Who We Are

The Grain Valley Assistance Council (GVAC) is a community organization founded in 1994 by a group of concerned citizens. The GVAC strives to provide services, support and counsel to those families and individuals in the Grain Valley community who are less fortunate including:

    · Low-income individuals and families
    · Home-bound due to age or disabilities
    · At-risk youth
    · Families in transition from welfare to work
    · The homeless
    · Low-income single-parent families, or those being headed by a grandparent or other relative
We are guided by a 20-person Board of Directors, made up of business, education and community leaders from the Grain Valley area.  We are committed to caring for the needs of the people in our community.  Many of our volunteers have been working for us since we were founded 19 years ago.  Our entire staff is eager and ready to provide service to those in our community who are in need.
